Arch Development

Sagittal: Lower

The Lower Sagittal was one of the most popular arch development appliances of the late 70’s and throughout the 80’s. The sagittal appliance utilizes expansion screws placed along the alveolar process to stimulate arch development. The screws are placed parallel to the Sagittal plane but also parallel to the buccal line angle. Unilateral designs can also be contructed.

3-Way Expander

The 3-Way expander is a unique arch development appliance that uses a specially designed screw to expand the arch. Each quadrant can be activated independently to the desired position. For example you can activate the anterior section only 3 millimeters and the right quadrant 4 millimeters and the left quadrant 5 millimeters. The screw has activation points for individual quadrant activation.
