Submitting a Digital Case
We understand that the idea of making the transition to digital can seem intimidating, but our lab is committed to supporting our customers through each-and-every step of this process.
There are a few one-time steps you will need to take to begin this process:
- (1) New Account Form: Are you new to Specialty Appliances™? If so, we're thrilled to begin working with you! To set up your account, complete the New Account Form.
- Once we receive this document, we will contact you with any questions. Then we will send you pertinent information about your new Specialty Appliances™ account!
- (2) Connect your Scanner with Specialty Appliances™: Each intraoral scanner is capable of sending intraoral scans to our lab directly. As an alternative to exporting the scans and sending them as individual files.
- Either method is acceptable. However, the majority of our customers prefer the convenience of submitting scans directly through their scanners. For instructions on both of these scan transfer methods, please select your scanner and follow the instructions.
Once these steps have been completed, you're ready to send your first case. Follow these steps to submit digital cases to Specialty Appliances™!
Complete the intraoral scan. To be sure that all required anatomy is captured, feel free to review our Scan Code instructional document which explains the anatomy that is required depending upon the specific appliance being requested.
Complete the digital prescription sheet. Click here to see a complete list of Specialty Appliances™ prescription sheets. Click here for instructions on completing a an editable PDF.
Log in to the Specialty Appliances™ Customer Portal to submit your file(s). Click here for instructions on utilizing the customer portal.

We will receive and review your submission. If we have any questions about your case, we will use the information provided on the prescription sheet to contact you!

Your patients' scans will be digitally loaded on one of our cutting-edge 3-D printers and the result is a precise physical working model. For additional information about our 3-D printers, please visit our Digital Printing page!

Depending upon the specific appliance being fabricated, we will either duplicate the printed model in stone to use in the fabrication process or fabricate directly on the printed model.
